Aker BP has awarded front-end engineering and design (FEED) contracts worth nearly $81m (Nkr700m) for the NOA Fulla field development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Aker Solutions has received FEED contracts for topsides and jacket for processing, drilling, and quarters platform (PdQ) platform and for the normally uncrewed Frøy wellhead platform (NUI) for the field.
The firm also secured a FEED contract for project management of the power from the project’s shore. This includes sub-contractors for civil and electronics.
Additionally, Aker BP has awarded a FEED contract to Siemens Energy for electrical, instrument, control systems and telecom (EICT).
These contracts have been awarded as part of the fixed facilities alliance between Aker BP, Aker Solutions and Siemens Energy.
NOA Fulla project director Bård Atle Hovd said: “The NOA PdQ is the very heart of the NOAKA development, tying the entire area together. Now the Fixed Facilities Alliance between Aker Solutions, Siemens Energy and Aker BP will spend the next year working to create a good design basis.
“That, along with the other FEED deliveries, forms the basis for the plan for development and operation, which we plan to submit to the Norwegian authorities by the end of 2022.”
As part of the Subsea Alliance, Aker BP has awarded FEED contracts to Aker Solutions for seabed production system (SPS), and to Subsea 7 for umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF).
Subsea 7’s FEED study for the NOA Fulla project would help in finalising the technical definition of the proposed development prior to making the final investment decision in late 2022.
The NOA Fulla field is located in the southern part of the Krafla, Fulla, and North of Alvheim (NOAKA) area situated between Oseberg and Alvheim in the North Sea.
The NOAKA area is estimated to hold gross recoverable resources of more than 500 million barrels of oil equivalents.
